Statistics NZ

Proposal: Reader friendly website

Web / Prototype / Infographic

Language as a system of communication, which consists of sounds and written symbols that are used by people of a particular country or region for talking or writing. However people use to gain knowledge and information with only a limited understanding.
Especially when people try to collect the data (or information) from public institution, it is become more problematic to get them with fully understanding.
While I was do some research about a language in New Zealand, I found a website called ‘Statistics NZ’. I had very unpleasant user experience with this website because, I felt very hard to find what I was looking for and also hard to read endlessly long and boring text.
I believe my user experience on ‘Statistics NZ’ website contrary to the basic purpose of this website.

Most common problems

“Good designs are filled with stories, and they inspire action”

So I proposed 'reader(user) friedndly website':

UX / UI: Keep it everything simple, cut out any unnecessary steps
Infographics: help general user to understand complicated data and information / Minimize writing contents
